Emmett Wheatfall
Spoken Word Artist
An authentic talent in the world of jazz, blues, and gospel music is the
soulful, and deeply spiritual, poet and recording artist Emmett Wheatfall.
Emmett's artistic creativity dates back to high school and college where
acting and directing were his passions. Over the years he has done
voice over work and is an annual presenter of the Dr. Martin Luther King
Jr. "I Have A Dream Speech" during Black History Month.
Emmett says poetry introduced itself to him. Asked to recite a poem
written by a friend, it stands today as the key that opened his mind and
voice to the literary and spoken artistry of poetry. Since then, Emmett
has crafted his insights and experiences into written word. A deeply
religious man, husband, and father, Emmett is well versed in the matters
of life that touch us all. Always studying and pushing himself towards
excellence, Emmett humbly describes himself as an "Aspiring Poet."
Make no mistake, his works are relevant and relatable; his topics are
epic and will make you reflect on your own life with deep appreciation.
His freshman CD, "When I Was Young," says it all. With his commanding
voice and poignant lyricism, Emmett delivers a soulful and moving
performance that covers romance, faith, betrayal and matters of life. His
words are set to a fierce, sensitive and moving accompaniment that
crosses the boundaries of jazz into blues, funk, soul and gospel.
Emmett Wheatfall is America’s new social, political, and storytelling poet.
